Setting up your business

A quick setup so your estimates and invoices look professional from day one.

Once you sign up, Fieldwright walks you through a short onboarding wizard. After that, everything below lives in Settings and can be edited any time.

Finish onboarding

  1. Enter your company name and trade

This shows up on every estimate and invoice your customers receive.

  2. Add a first client and job (optional)

You can skip this and add them later. Either way the wizard finishes and drops you into the main app.

Fill in your business profile

Go to Settings → Business info. The fields here drive every customer-facing document.

  1. Business name, phone, and address

These print on estimates and invoices. The address is also used to plan crew travel time.

  2. Upload your logo

Square or wide images both work. PNG with a transparent background looks best on emails.

  3. Default tax rate and payment terms

Set a default tax % and how many days customers have to pay (Net 14, Net 30, etc.). You can override these on any single invoice.

  4. Invoice and estimate prefix

Pick a prefix like INV- or EST-. Fieldwright auto-numbers the rest.

  5. Invoice footer

A short line that prints at the bottom of every invoice — “Thanks for the work”, license number, etc.

Turn on customer reminders

Go to Settings → Notifications. The Customer communications card lets you toggle automatic emails.

  1. Job confirmation

Sent when a job is scheduled, so the customer knows you're locked in.

  2. Appointment reminder

Sent the day before to cut down on no-shows.

  3. Estimate follow-up

If a sent estimate hasn't been opened in three days, Fieldwright nudges the customer.

  4. Invoice reminder

Sent when an invoice is overdue. Keeps you out of the awkward chase-down conversation.
